Happy Bunny Day!

Last week started with more wind! Well, it never stopped from the week before. It just kept going and going. Some areas nearby did lose power, but thankfully we didn’t. It was cold too. The wind did FINALLY calm down on Friday, but didn’t stop. Then it rained. I’m pretty sure that’s the worst winds we’ve ever had. Except that one time we had a tornado…

On Monday I beat Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, and I cried like a baby at the end. I never thought I would get that attached to video game characters, but after 29 hours with them, I guess I did. It was so good. The final boss fight was disappointing, but the aftergame stuff was so freaking good. Tears. Lots and lots of tears. There also seemed to be a hint for a sequel, which I sincerely hope happens!

I also finally beat Donkey Kong Country 3! I was obsessed with this game as a kid, but never got to beat it as my SNES mysteriously didn’t make it to our new house when we moved (neither did my N64, which I still mourn). And I never managed to find it for the GBA, despite having the previous two games for it. I’m surprised how well this game still holds up! It’s definitely challenging like all DK games, so I made liberal use of the rewind feature. It’s not cheating! I’ll probably just work my way backwards and play DKC2 next, which was always my favorite of the three. It also has my all-time favorite game soundtrack.

But before I can do that, I had to play Kirby and the Forgotten Land! It was suppose to arrive on Tuesday, but the post office decided to hold it hostage, hence me going back and beating DKC3 instead. But then I got it and didn’t want to put it down! This game is insane! And also made me cry at the end. It’s definitely too short like every other Kirby game, but there’s so much awesomeness packed in those handful of hours. That ending was so wild, and it wasn’t really the end!

New Books:

Comixology Unlimited:

Kindle Unlimited:

My Comixology trial ended last week, but I was able to squeeze in a few more! And I read The Vacuum of Space, which was a freebie I recently grabbed, and had a lot of fun, so I grabbed the rest of the series to binge!

Sharing is caring!

  1. Congratulations on beating those games! I haven’t really been in a gaming mood for about 6 months. I did pick my Switch back up to play Among Us and that was fun, but I have such little free time, I’d rather spend it reading.

I hope you have a great week.

  2. I’m glad to hear the weather has improved! The wind stopped for us too… only to be replaced by FREAKING SNOW! 😭 It was a nightmare! It’s pretty much gone now, except for the mountains, but it’s still a bit chilly out. It’s a good thing I’m heading to Mexico later in the week cause I’m sick of the cold 😆

Oh no! I can’t believe the post office has Kirby held hostage! Rude! Lol. I finally bit the bullet and just bought that game today cause I want to play it on the plane. I’m probably gonna start it today though. Lol.

Yay! You got all the Space Janitors! Lol. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! The series has it’s ups and downs, but overall I really enjoyed it! It was so much fun!

    • SNOW! The weather just does not want to be pleasant, does it?! But I hope you have a wonderful time and amazing weather in Mexico!

Kirby is so freaking fun! Enjoy!

I’m about to finish up the third book and it’s been entertaining!

  3. I laugh at the idea of crying at a video game, but I get it! Some of them have some SERIOUS character development and story lines – you get attached. The only game I ever really played that long was Dragon Age (I think that’s what it’s called) and I was very attached. I’m glad you’re enjoying your games! I hope this week has been great!

    • I don’t even mind being laughed at, because the emotions were ridiculously strong! I’m pretty sure I own Dragon Age (got it foreeeeever ago), but still haven’t played it.
