Sunday Post #95: Happy Spring!

Posted March 20, 2022 by Angie in Sunday Post / 4 Comments

Last week started off with another Night Huntress chat! It’s so interesting to hear everybody’s take on these books! It’s not too late to join us for the next books!

I watched Turning Red (Disney+). It was cute, but I didn’t cry?! I did love how Pixar stepped out of their squeaky-clean box and covered puberty so honestly! And the soundtrack is great; I totally would have been a 4-Town fan.

I also started playing Super Mario 3D World. It’s not one of my favorites so far, but I love being able to play as Peach! She is my absolutely favorite character! Although I’ve been playing as Rosalina in Mario Kart 8 despite there being FOUR different Peach options…I guess I can’t decide.

Then I bought a bunch of games! They all have one thing in common: dark and/or quirky art style, because that’s my jam. All of them were also 80-90% off, which is great! I got Haustoria, Mahluk Dark Demon, Feudal Alloy, Silence, Neo Cab, The Wardrobe, Encodya, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, and Edna & Harvey: Harvey’s New Glasses. These are all 2D platformers or point-and-click adventures.

I did end up playing Edna & Harvey: The Breakout, which was bananas! Then I was going to jump right into the second game, but decided I wanted something less chaotic. So I finally started Down in Bermuda, which is really relaxing. The controls kind of suck, but I liked the vibe.

Back to working on the books that I added way back in 2014! I had also grabbed some comics and graphic novels to hold me over before I made it to the library.

    • I’ve been slowly but surely getting through the oldest books, and it’s a lot of fun to see what my tastes were like back then and if I’m still interested.
