Don’t forget to set your clock ahead one hour if you haven’t already and live in a backwards country that still insists on this nonsensical practice!

It was super windy last week, so I didn’t get to walk the dogs everyday. Bummer. But on one of the days we went big grocery shopping, so I wouldn’t have had time anyway. The other days were super nice though, so it seems like spring has sprung! It just can’t decide if it wants to be calm or chaos.

I started off the week…buying games, what else is new?! But there was a big Mario Day sale, so I finally got Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, because I need them in my life. Other Mario games were on sale as well, but not for their lowest prices, so I’m waiting on those (probably Black Friday). I also downloaded the DLC for Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and couldn’t be anymore excited to see how the Donkey Kong characters get the Rabbid treatment! I also grabbed Jet Kave Adventure after playing the demo; it’s basically Donkey Kong but with a cave man with a jetpack! And Figment, a puzzle platformer (duuuh!) whose artstyle looks like a mash-up of Dr. Seuss and Tim Burton.

I did beat Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Wednesday! That game was a super fun challenge! I only ended with 71% because I was not even trying to get all of the K-O-N-G letters and puzzle pieces and secret levels. I just needed to not die and make it to the end of the levels! I did pop into Little Nightmares, but I’m still stuck and frustrated; I’m not giving up though! I do want to start playing something else though, I just can’t decide on what!

I actually did a lot of blog stuff last week as well. I got my calendar sorted for the next couple of months. I deleted drafts that I had no intention of ever writing after holding on to hope that I’d get them done for way too long. I finished some partial drafts (thank goodness for notes!). Generally, I just cleaned things up. I’m not as ahead on blogging as I’d like to be, since I’ve clearly been obsessed with gaming the last few months, but I’m getting back on track little by little. I also haven’t been visiting blogs at all and I feel bad. I hope to get that back on track as well.

  1. My games these days are all on my cell phone or Kindle – Lucy’s Garden, Penny and Flo, both interactive games and fun. I also like Candy Crush! Have a good week.

    • I was addicted to Candy Crush a few years ago! I had to delete it though, because I would not stop playing! I don’t have any games on my phone now.

    • We need rain sooo badly! We get wind like crazy and they’ve already started the wildfire warnings since it’s so dry and windy. 🙁

  2. I used to be such a gamer – but man it can really suck up the time, can’t it? and I seem to be all or nothing – get me in the games and they hold me captive, or I just don’t touch them. No in-between for me. I’m glad you’re enjoying them though.

So, I hate changing the clock with a fiery passion, BUT I saw this graphic last year that was saying that without it, we’d have parts of the year where sunrise is at like 3 or 4 am and that sunset is at 3 or 4 pm. IDK if it was accurate but IF it is, that would be worse than the time change.

Hope you’re having a great week.

    • I put off getting a Switch for soooo long because I knew this would happen! I use to game before my love of reading reignited and I completely dropped it, but now it’s back with a vengeance!

Honestly, that doesn’t make sense to me. For one, not every place changes the time and there’s no weird sunset/rise hours (except in places that have weird hours anyway like Alaska). Plus, sunrise right now is at 7ish. If we hadn’t changed the time, it would be 6ish. In October, it’s around 8ish, then we set the clock back and it’s 7ish. Where would the 3-4 extra hour change come from? I think it’s just an outdated practice, and it doesn’t matter if the sun sets or rises an hour later/earlier, especially since the amount of light depends more on location than on the actual time.
