Last week was another normal week. More reading, more Animal Crossing, more Super Mario Galaxy, and lots of Thanksgiving food! Actually, I beat Super Mario Galaxy. And by “beat,” I just mean I saved Princess Peach, but there are still 59 power stars to find! I’ll be going back to finish those off eventually. In the meantime, I immediately started Super Mario Odyssey and it’s also super fun so far! I’m getting use to the controls and settling into the game, but it looks like it’s going to be another winner. I do still prefer Galaxy at this point, but they’re both great games.
I also splurged on Cozy Grove and Hollow Knight, two games that have been on my wish list since I got my Switch. Cozy Grove is super…cozy. It’s just so pleasant to play. I’m a little bummed that you can only progress so much per day, but I also kind of like that I’m forced to take my time. It gives me a little something to look forward to each day. As for Hollow Knight, I only played for a few minutes last night and died several times. I absolutely love the art style, which is what drew me to it, but I don’t know if I like the gameplay. But I don’t know if I don’t like it because I suck at it, or if I suck at it because I don’t like it. Obviously, I need to give it more time, but if it does turn out to be not-for-me, that’s okay.
I watched Shang-Chi (okay), Love Hard (adorable), Home Sweet Home Alone (pretty good), The Muppets: Letters to Santa (disappointing),. Much like with my 31 Halloween movies, I’m aiming for 24 Christmas movies!
