On Risda III, it’s custom for women to marry for convenience. It provides safety and security in a universe that offers none for humans.

Me, I don’t really *need* a husband. I just want one. And I want one man in particular. There’s a new guy in town, a by-the-books military man named Rektar. Every day I show up to his office and flirt with him. I bring pies. I twirl my hair. I make it very, very obvious what I want.

Rektar is patient, and gentle for all his hulking form. He’d be a great husband. He’s also completely clueless that I’m flirting with him.

So it’s time for me to be a little bit bolder…

four-stars

When She’s Bold was so freaking cute! We’re back on Risda III with Lucy, whom we briefly met in When She Dances, and I was eager for her story. Lucy is a curvy Black chick and she’s super friendly and has her sights set on Rektar, the new officer in the port authority office. She’s been blatantly throwing herself at him for weeks, but he doesn’t seem to get it. However, he has a huge crush on the luscious Lucy. He’s just very straight laced, as he says. Why would a woman like that want a boring no name guy like him?

I just adored Lucy and Rektar! And they’re both plus sized! All of the mesakkah we’ve met so far, across all of the series, are lean and muscular. Rektar is husky. He very much enjoys food and Lucy is more than willing to feed her man. When She’s Bold just gave me all kinds of tingly feels. There’s a particular moment in Lucy’s barn that was especially squee-worthy! Oh, Rektar, you silly man! I do wish this one had been longer, because they’ve been my favorite couple so far. They just didn’t have any drama to work through, which was actually pretty nice.
