She came to the mountains for silence. He came to make noise.
When Beth rents a mountainside cabin to focus on her art, the last person on earth she wants sharing her retreat is a drummer from a metal band. Finn is big, bearded, and tattooed, irritating and irresistible in equal measure. But when a storm forces them together, Beth and Finn soon find the tension between them is enough to shake the mountain to rubble, and that their hearts may not beat to such different rhythms after all.
Rhythm is exactly what I wanted and more. It has my second favorite Romance trope of all-time! Stranded together! Finn is staying at the cabin to practice his drums for an upcoming tour. Beth came to the cabin for solace and to paint. The two don’t meet under the best circumstances, since Beth is not getting the peace that she wants with Finn banging away downstairs. But when a freak storm hits and floods Finn’s part of the cabin, he seeks shelter with her to wait out the storm. And sexy times commence! And yes, it was sexy. Grab a fan.
The best part about Rhythm was the crazy chemistry between Finn and Beth. They are immediately attracted to each other despite being annoyed at one another. Finn is big and burly and tattooed and a rock star! Well, actually, his band isn’t famous yet, which is a fun twist on the rock star trope. Finn is also hairy and Beth loves it! We get a detailed description of his bear-like physique and I’m not complaining. I had such a good freaking time reading Rhythm. It does everything right.
