Old books don’t expire! I definitely read way more backlist titles than new releases, and that includes book that were published before I was born! Here are ten books I enjoyed which were published before October 1989.

I have plenty more old school Historical Romances on my TBR. A lot of them are ridiculous and feel dated, but the ones here are great!
I’m not sure if it’s an issue with my computer or yours, but I don’t actually see any books listed here?!
My post.
Hmm, that’s weird. They’re all showing up for me…
I’m surprised I haven’t actually heard of any of these books besides Flowers in the Attic. I love that you included that one though! I only read it recently although I read lots of Virginia Andrew’s other books as a teenager. It is my favourite one now!
It’s her only book that I’ve read (so far), but I watched all of the Lifetime Movies! 😛
Oh my goodness– Flowers in the Attic!! I remember that vividly from middle school. That book, and the sequels, got passed around A LOT!!

Haha, I wonder how I would have felt reading it in middle school! I didn’t get to it until I was 21 or 22. 😛
I haven’t read any of the books on your list but I know I have some old school historical romances too. Victoria Holt was my introduction to the genre 😊. And then I love quite a few classics.
I haven’t read her before!
Great picks.

Annie On My Mind is a modern classic. I’m glad you appreciate it.

Yeah, I’m glad I read it. 🙂
