2020 Recap, Review, and Good Riddance!

2020 was the weirdest year. I’m sure we can all agree on that. Lots of terrible things happened, but overall I had a pretty good year. Well, pretty good might be pushing it, but I didn’t hate every moment and was generally fine. I’m definitely looking forward to moving on from this though. I hope 2021 holds good news for us all.

January-February

The start of the year was fairly normal. I had a job. I was excited to have my very first international vacation planned. Then Tokyo Disney closed at the end of February and I had nothing.

March

This is when things started going downhill. I got fired, then a week later the world shut down. Looking back, I never would have thought that things would be so different 10 months later. My state is still mostly on lockdown and I’m not even trying to get my old job back.

April-May

Spring is all one big blur. I don’t even remember much. I just know that I read a lot, watched a lot of Degrassi, and tried to figure out what the heck I wanted to do about a job. This is also when my dog Lulu got super sick and I spent a lot of time taking care of her. I also started blogging again at the end of May.

June

June was awful. Lulu died and I just crumbled. I was crying all the time and lashing out. I just didn’t know what to do with myself. I started interning with Entangled Publishing about a week later and that gave me something to do to take my mind off of my sadness.

July-September

Did these months even happen? I don’t even know. My mom bought me Fiona in July to help pull me out of my funk. I desperately did not want another dog, but she’s cute and fun.

October

My birth month! I finally got to live my dream of having pink hair! I also went to Disney World despite the world crashing around us.

November-December

Just more of the same. Lots of reading. Lots of planning new things for my new life.

Overall, 2020 wasn’t terrible. Lots of ups and downs and things I’d never imagine happening. At least I’m alive and well. I can’t wait to get that vaccine though.

Sharing is caring!

  1. What a year, huh? I’m sorry about Lulu, losing a pet is the worst. I’m glad you had some great highlights this year though too! Here’s to a better year!
